Cheek Makeup

Choosing cheek makeup...we all want a natural, healthy-looking glow, right? With just a few simple tips, you can have the perfect look you want!

When choosing cheek color, remember to consider your basic skin tone. Subtle is the most flattering but sometimes a brighter color is just the look you're after.

One last thing to consider before selecting your perfect color is to determine the cheek makeup texture you want to use: cream or powder. Mineral powder is a top choice because of its beneficial properties for all skin types (won't clog pores, resists settling into fine lines and wrinkles, and has oil-absorbing properties). Additionally, mineral powder is famous for its ease of application, excellent coverage, and adhesion to the skin. Your second choice is a cream blush, which is especially suited to dry or older skin because of its rich, moisturizing ingredients. However, it is suitable for anyone who wants a sun-kissed sheer, natural-looking glow! See below for product recommendations.

...Here are a few simple tips for choosing your perfect cheek makeup color!

1. Determine your skin tone - are you warm or cool? Check the veins on your inner wrists. If they have a greenish tone, you have warm skin. If they look blue, you have cool skin. Easy so far, right? To confirm your skin tone, determine how your skin reacts to the sun. Cool skin has a tendency to burn and warm skin tends to tan. You can also try the gold/silver test. Does your skin look better next to a gold bracelet or a silver bracelet? Gold compliments warm skin and silver looks better on cool skin.

2. Determine the cheek makeup shades you can wear - warm undertones look best in yellow-based blush colors and cool looks best in blue-based pinks and berries.

3. Try some colors based on tips #1 and #2 above and pick the one that looks best on you! Below are cheek color recommendations but click here to get your free check color samples.

...Remember! Check your final look in the mirror to make sure your face looks balanced. You don't want your cheeks too dark! You can always lighten up your cheek color by sweeping a little mineral powder over the cheek color. If you want a more dramatic look for evening, you can darken up your blush by using more color or by using a darker color, but be sure your cheek color is not darker than your eye color unless you're going for a natural eye look - you don't want to look over-done!

Have fun and enjoy your natural glow!
