Red Lipstick

Many women assume they cannot wear red lipstick but that's far from true. Red can perform miracles such as making your lips pop and making your teeth look whiter! There are just a few things listed below to keep in mind but otherwise wear red!

If you go with dark red, make sure to go lighter with your eye color and cheek color to prevent looking like a clown.

Red can instantly give you a put-together out-the-door look by being the focal point on your face. All you need to do is apply some mascara, mineral powder foundation, and light blush then apply your red lip color and you're out the door looking great!

Red lipstick Paying attention to your skin color can help make smart red lip color choices. If your complexion is pink, stick to blue-red shades such as plum (cool tones). If your complexion is yellow or olive, wear warmer reds with an orange or brown base tone.

With red lip color, it's always a good idea to use a lip liner to keep the lipstick from bleeding outside the lip line.

A fun trick is to use more than one color on your lips, thereby giving you more control over tone and lightness/darkness. You can use this tip also to help you better coordinate with the outfit you happen to be wearing! ...Speaking of coordinating, make sure your nail color doesn't clash with your lip color. If you want to wear a red color often you might want to go with a clear polish, lighter shades or even a black.

Below is a link to my favorite red lip color. If you are happy with the brand you are wearing, stick to it! Otherwise, here is my suggestion.

Enjoy your red!
